FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Are you considering offering the Elaine Brennan Skin Renewal Peeling in your clinic?

Here are answers to some of the questions you might be wondering about.

Is the peeling suitable for all skin types and ages?

Yes. The peeling is safe to use on all skin types including very sensitive skin, all ethnicities and ages.

What type of condition does the peeling treat?

There is no skin that is not greatly improved after the Skin Renewal Peeling. Superficial facial lines, wrinkling, crepey eyelids, acne, acne scarring, discoloration, facial redness, oiliness, dryness, sensitivity, sun damage and poor quality skin are some of the conditions that are substantially improved after peeling.

With all the dozens of peelings on the market, what is so special about yours?

Our peeling produces a superior peeling that is not only safe, but is extremely effective. It achieves a true rejuvenation of the skin resulting in dramatic improvement in its elasticity, texture and color. Our peeling may be safely applied to the eyelids, neck and chest.

Is your peeling tried and tested?

Yes. Elaine Brennan spent 50 years specializing and perfecting skin peeling to achieve smooth, glowing and younger looking skins. She is a leader in a field where experience ultimately counts. An international expert on skin peeling, the Elaine Brennan skin peeling is a sophisticated formula which is safe and controlled.

What makes your peeling safe?

Some peelings and lasers can destroy cells in the deeper layers of the epidermis or even the dermis creating permanent scarring. With our peeling, any risks are removed by using special base ingredients which prevent the peeling process penetrating too deeply into the skin.

What is in your peeling?

Our peeling is based on resorcinol and salicylic acid compounded in a special non penetrating base.

Is your peeling FDA approved?

At this time, the FDA has not approved any brand name products in the chemical peel category. We do however use the finest medical grade USP, FDA approved ingredients in our peeling which are all manufactured in the United States.

Is the peeling difficult to apply?

No. The peeling comes in the form of a cream which allows for easy and uniform application with no missed spots. Unlike the majority of peelings which allow the practitioner to control the strength of the peeling, our peeling avoids the possibility of human error.

Do I have to buy any special products to use with this peeling?

No. Unlike many other companies who insist that you purchase their cosmetic products to use along with their peels, we do not.

Why do I have to attend training to use your peeling?

Our peeling requires a comprehensive and thorough training in the theory, technique of application and in the system in its entirety.

Who can use your peeling and can I buy it online?

Our peeling is only made available for use to suitably qualified practitioners and is not available for purchase online. It is only available through our authorized distributors.

I am an experienced peeler and have done dozens of peelings in my practice. Can’t I train online?

No. You need to attend the training in person. Our peeling is unique and quite different from any other peeling on the market. There are many intricacies that just cannot be taught online. Each patient is unique and each concern must be individually addressed. We want you to be successful and we want your clients to be delighted with their results. We maintain our excellent reputation by ensuring that all practitioners are skilled and knowledgeable.

Can I have a sample to try?

No. You need to undergo the 2 day training before you are able to use this product on yourself or on anyone else.

How long is the training?

The training takes 2 days, and it hands on only. Theory will be covered in depth.

You will be provided with consent forms and instructions for your clients. You will learn the application of the peeling which consists of an application of the peeling paste on two consecutive days on the same model. The client’s skin is removed by the esthetician on the 7th - 10th day. Your peel off training on day 7-10 will be covered during your 2 day training.

Will my skin be perfect after one peeling?

No. Peeling is not a miracle method of completely reversing all types of skin damage. “You cannot make a calf’s skin out of old tanned leather”. It is however, the most reliable of dermatological treatments and offers outstanding results.

How many peels can I have?

There is no limit to the number of peelings a skin will stand. Each peeling stimulates regrowth. Experience has shown that when two of our peelings are affected at 6 to 8 week intervals, this is when the cellular reproduction begun by the first peeling has still not finished by the time the second one is applied, and a markedly better result is obtained than one would have with just one peeling. Thereafter, one annual peeling is recommended..

What if I only want one peeling?

You can certainly have just one peeling and still achieve a marked improvement in your skin.

Is the peeling painful?

For approximately 10 to 20 minutes, there is moderate stinging which is eased greatly by the use of a fan. This then gives way to a numb like feeling. There is no pain associated with the peeling thereafter.

How will I look during the peeling process?

Immediately after application, the skin will appear normal aside from redness which is like sunburn. After the application on the second day, the skin will darken and feel tight. On the 3rd to the 6th day, the skin becomes darker and feels very tight. The skin starts to peel around the nose, mouth and the corners of the eyes. For those who work and cannot afford to take time off, we make the applications on a Wednesday and Thursday so that the most unsightly days fall over the weekend.

Who cannot have your peeling?

  • Pregnant and breast feeding women

  • anyone who is taking the drug “accutane” and for a minimum of 6-12 months post accutane

  • anyone who has active cancer

  •  anyone currently undergoing chemotherapy or radiation or is taking an oral chemotherapy drug
